About

Love At Work was founded in 2001 as a means of rescuing street children in Latin America. Founder and Director Neil Millman is a geographer/ photographer/ social entrepreneur who observed the conditions of street children over a 30-year period of world travel that included 66 countries. The sight of poverty appalled him.

In 2001 Millman became an advocate for street kids and undertook a photo expedition to Mexico and Guatemala to study the problem firsthand. The journey resulted in a video documentary and a book entitled Miraculous Journey.

On that journey Neil met Margarita Cortes, a naturalized immigrant from Puebla, Mexico whom he soon married. As a pediatric dental assistant, Margarita has been responsible for organizing dental service projects to shelters in Mexico City. Since 2002 the Millmans have visited Mexico and Colombia every year, providing financial, material, and volunteer assistance to Casa Ecuador and other shelters, orphanages, and nonprofit organizations. Love At Work is located in Provo, Utah and has a governing board of three members.

In 2014 the plight of thousands of children from Mexico and Central America trying to reach the United States became big but short-lived news. To address the issue of juvenile refugees Neil Millman visited Tijuana with the Charity Anywhere Foundation and began a collaboration with Aldeas Infantiles SOS orphanage. Director Erendira Trujillo introduced him to several other shelters, as well as the Canoe Foundation daycare center for children with physical and cognitive disabilities.
